Pokemon Go Book Tag

Pokemon go

This Awesome tag was create by Aentee @ Read at Midnight and I’ve been dying inside to do this tag because it looked so awesome! I’m not even a Pokemon fan, but still. Technically, Fadwa @ Word Wonders didn’t tag me but she said everyone could do it, so I jumped in at the first chance I got 😛 Also, you should check out her blog, she posts great reviews and engaging book talks regularly!

Let’s start!

1

There’s no way in the world I could point out one book that started my love for reading. There were children books for bedtime stories that started my love for stories, such as Thumbelina and all the Princess stories. But I think I fell in love with reading after I got my first Detective Conan and Doraemon comic books 😛

2

I can’t think of a better example than Harry Potter. I tried to, since most people already had HP on their lists, but none came to my mind. Harry Potter is probably the first big book that I ever read. Before HP, I only read teenlit and comics. I was in seventh grade when I first tried reading Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. The translated version is 1200 pages and that equals two gazillion pages for an amateur reader I was back then. Took me about two weeks but totally worth it! The whole series is amazing, the characters are so lovable, plus I kinda grew up with them, so there’s no way I’m getting over it anytime soon ♥

3

Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. I was initially excited to read this book because it seemed so awesome but the more I see the 5 stars review, the less eager I become to read this book. The Grisha also had so many amazing reviews but I didn’t love it either, so…. I know I’m missing out but I just can’t bring myself to actually read it 😦

4

I’ve mentioned this in my review but this book seriously has every cliches you can imagine. The new girl at school, the rich and the poor, love hate relationship, high school drama along with the mean girls in it, you name it. Surprisingly, I like it. The key to reading this book is to not over analyze it. I mean, when you really think about it, some scenes are kind of trashy, but I know what I’m getting into with this book and it’s just simply addictive. It’s a major page turner that I finished in one sitting. I’m currently dying for Twisted Palace!

5

I’ll have to second Fadwa on this. A Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin is incredibly big and definitely intimidating. All the books have at least 800 pages each and there would be 8 books in total (I guess?). I’m just not up to it. Nope, too rich for my blood. I tried watching the tv show instead but even that is too complicated! I’m still curious though.

6

Most books keep me up at night because I’m a night reader. I usually just start reading around 11 and be done at… whenever I feel like it. The last book that kept me up at night was Did I Mention I Love You? by Estelle Maskame. It wasn’t that good but I just wasn’t sleepy so I read until after 4. The only thing stopping me to finish the book is my dad waking up to perform shalat subuh. I didn’t wanna be caught reading all night long so I jumped out of my bed and turned off my bedroom light :’)

7

I’m a sucker for good love stories and I have a single post just to talk about my favorite fictional couples in books 😛 I ship almost everybody in the book but my favorite couple is still and probably always will be Penryn Young and Raffee. Super fun and not at all insta-love! ♥ also, all the couples from Kasie West’s books! 😛

8

I honestly can’t remember the last book I read that is fast paced. Most books I read recently are a bit slow. But I remember Legend by Marie Lu being one of the fastest paced book I’ve read so far, so there’s my answer ♦

9

You may have noticed I’m a sucker for fairy tale retelling so I’m pretty sure I would never get sick of fairy tale and greek myth spin off. The original stories are so good and there are limitless possibilities for spin off. My favorite fairy tale is definitely Beauty and the Beast so authors, feel free to spin it however you like and I’ll make sure to check it out 😛 Also, I’ll read whatever Rick Riordan writes because he’s definitely a pro at greek myth spin off!

10

I don’t like books about time traveler so I didn’t expect to love this book. But this is surprisingly good! Sure there are insta love and whiny teenagers but I actually enjoyed it. It was so page turning I finished all three in just a week or so! Psst… the last book even got me crying. I’m emotional like that.

11

I don’t know about overhyped but this series definitely got a lot of hype. It’s probably justified so I’m realllyyy curious about it! Especially since Cait @ Paper Fury talks about these books everywhere so I couldn’t help it 😛 I really wanna read it to see what the fuss is all about and I had the feeling that it’s gonna be awesome!

12

I never care about collector’s edition. I mean, I read mostly ebooks because it’s cheaper so how am I supposed to buy collector’s edition? 😛 But I saw this on Lauren’s post and it looked super awesome!! Gahhhh, look at that care of magical creature book!

13

Again, I’m incapable of choosing only one book per prompt, so here goes three 😛 Ever the Hunted because it has such a beautiful cover and promising blurb, Vassa in the Night because it’s a retelling and Russia, Of Fire and Stars because the synopsis is just awesome and has so much potential ♥ Sadly though, I’ve been hearing mixed reviews from people who receive the ARCs 😦

14

It’s definitely Kasie West. I read and love all her books and I feel like she writes book just for me!! Relatable female protagonist, swoon worthy guys, awesome best friends, a healthy dose of sarcasm, not to mention super adorable love stories! Kasie West can do no wrong and I’ll read whatever she writes. I can’t wait for her upcoming books By Your Side and The Sun, the Moon, and the Truth ♥

15

I’ve been dying for these books ever since the beginning of 2016 so could you please just come out already???!!!!! sigh

I tag anyone who wants to do this. Yep, that’s you! 😉

  1. Great post!👍

While reading this, I can see that we have almost the same taste in books.🙋

And a super plus is the fact that you’ve read Harry Potter and Rick Riordan’s books because I love them sooo much!😍

Pokemon Go is not (yet) available in our country, I think.. I would love to play it and catch some pokemons specially the cute ones, haha..😸

    • Yayyyy! *high five* Rick Riordan is the bessstttt!! He’s so great with greek myth spin off AND character development. I think his books have some of the best characterizations so far though I sometimes feel like I kinda outgrow their jokes 😂 I don’t play it but my little brother and most of my friends do, they always walk around aimlessly to catch em hahaha

I also never get tired of fairytale and myth retellings ESPECIALLY if it is greek mythology, I’m a sucker for it !
I can’t wait to start the Raven Cycle series I’ve heard great things about it and I want to see what it is all about 😊

      • I rewatched the movies countless times but never reread the whole series, I only did that for the first and last book, I don’t know why 😂
Yeah me too … but I know that even if I don’t like it, it won’t ruin it for me because it has already set deep roots in my heart 😂
YAAAY! That’s a great idea, when are you thinking of starting it ?

        • You should!! My favorite re-read is the 4th and 6th book 💚💛💜 yeahhh I’ll still probably get around to it though, I’m too curious hahaha let’s start soon! I don’t have anything else on my TBR soon so I’m ready to start anytime 😀😀

  3. Omg I totally agree with your highly anticipated-waiting-on-picks. And did you hear Strange the Dreamer got pushed back to 2017?!? *cries* I WANT IT SO BAD THO. I’m super uber excited for Gemina and Heartless…TIME GO FASTER PLASE. XD
Ahhhhhh I hope you try The Raven Cycle. THEY ARE ONLY THE BEST SERIES OF EVER I PROMISE. ❤ I'm kind of notorious for shouting about them all the time omg.😂
And agreed: Game of Thrones is intimidating! I listened to the audiobooks so at least I didn't have to break my hands on their ginormous sizes. And the books are waaay better than the show. Although I still do like the show.😂

    • I heard and I’M SO SAD 😦 Why so long??? Me too I can’t wait for them!!! I noticed, that’s why I’m very curious tho because of YOU! Hahaha I’ll get to it soon 😀 how long did it take for you to listen to the audiobook? I’m sure even audiobook takes a while hahaha I’m progressing with the show and I like it so far 😀

  4. I NEED GEMINA AND HEARTLESS IMMEDIATELY OMGGGG.

But lol, I know what you mean about Game of Thrones. It took me more than a week to read the first book – when I read most books in two days, that’s pretty crazy. But yep, Harry Potter is on many lists, because it’s just that good ❤ Let's ignore Cursed Child haha.

    • I know righttttt can we please skip August and September?? I’m so dying I need them right now 😦 they’re so intimidating! I think I’ll never get around it though haha but Harry Potter is EVERYTHING! I’m not sure about Cursed Child since I’ve been hearing sooo many negative reviews about it 😦
