Can’t 2017 Come Faster? Because I NEED to Read These Most Anticipated Books! <3

SPARKLING LETTERS BOOK BLOG- MOST ANTICIPATED BOOKS OF 2017.jpg

Okay, not true.

I don’t want 2017 to come faster. I mean, new year always comes with great expectation and I feel like I’m not ready for another set of expectations. Also, no matter how crappy this year has been for others, I still feel like this is one of the best year I’ve had so far. But let’s not get philosophical 😛 I’m here, as always, to talk about books ♥

In term of books, 2017 seems SO PROMISING! So many (hopefully) great books from my favorite authors will be released next year and I just can’t wait anymore! So here goes some of my most anticipated books for the first half of 2017 ♦ only for the first half because I’m linking this post with Top Ten Tuesday (though it’s obviously more than ten but who’s counting?) and most books released on the second half of 2017 don’t even have covers or specific release dates yet 😂

Let’s get started!

January

JANUARI TBR.jpg

CARVE THE MARK (January 17)

Obviously I love Veronica Roth’s previous books The Divergent Trilogy–even if I ended up hating the ending and the whole movies–so I was stoked to find out she’s going to publish another book ♥ But don’t ask me what this is about… I never remember synopsis 🙈

HISTORY IS ALL YOU LEFT ME (January 17)

I honestly just started reading More Happy Than Not but I know I’m going to love it already and by extension, I’m probably going to love this book too 😛 plus it sounds super awesome and there’s A LOT of M/M relationship in it! Also… I’m sensing some mental illness issue so BRING IT! 😍😍

CARAVAL (January 31)

Caraval is probably the ONLY debut novel on this list but I have huuuuuge faith in it because I’ve seen tons of rave reviews from fellow fantasy lovers who received the ARC. As always, I don’t remember what it is about, but I know there’s a game involved and any books with game are almost always good 😛 also, have you seen the cover??! Such a beauty ♥

BY YOUR SIDE (January 31)

To no one’s surprise, I’m already flailing over this book 😍 I mean, IT’S KASIE WEST, my favorite contemporary romance author of ever!! I love every single of her books and this one is set in a LIBRARY. It’s my dream comes true… also the pre-release reviews seem so positive.

February

FEBRUARI TBR.jpg

WE ARE OKAY (February 14)

I love Nina LaCour’s previous book Everything Leads to You SO MUCH ♥ I love her writing and all the characters she creates and I’m sure I’m gonna love this one just as much, if not more. Nina LaCour clearly has the talent to make an ordinary story becomes so much more interesting.

A CONJURING OF LIGHT (February 21)

This is like the ULTIMATE book of the year. It’s the final book to the glorious Shades of Magic trilogy and the wait for this book is absolutely insufferable because A Gathering of Shadows ended in a cliffhanger 😂 The stake is higher than ever and I just HAD TO find out what happens next. I had to. Though I’m also sad to say goodbye </3

March

MARCH TBR.jpg

THE INEXPLICABLE LOGIC OF MY LIFE (March 7)

Coming-of-age story tops with diverse culture and possibly LGBT element? SIGN ME UP! ♥ I’m like 90% sure I’m gonna love this book because I love Ari & Dante and I’m just so glad the title is so much less mouthful 🙈

GOODBYE DAYS (March 7)

Jeff Zentner is a debut author I just discovered last month but I fell in love instantly because The Serpent King was just SO GOOD! ♦♦ It’s one of my current favorite contemporary. Also this is about a guy blaming himself for the death of his best friends so I’m sure I’m gonna cry… again 😂

STRANGE THE DREAMER (March 28)

I’ve fallen in love with Laini Taylor’s eloquent writing ever since I read Daughter of Smoke and Bone three years ago, so obviously I’m beyond excited for this. And I’ve been waiting SO LONG for this book to finally come out! I mean, it was supposed to be released this year and then got pushed back, so this better be really worth it. Or else I’m gonna be sad.

April

APRIL TBR.jpg

ALWAYS AND FOREVER, LARA JEAN (April 4)

To be honest, I haven’t even read P.S. I Still Love You 🙈 buuuut I love To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before so much and this one is about Lara Jean’s senior year and I just love all stories that involve making decision about the future! I went through the same thing in high school so it’s always nice to read about it. And I also can’t wait for Lara Jean’s happily ever after ♥

I mean… it’s going to end happily, right…?

THE UPSIDE OF UNREQUITED (April 11)

I personally just finished reading this but I’m sure everyone knows that Simon VS the Homo Sapiens Agenda is a HUGE hit! It’s so fluffy and I’ve heard so many great things about the ARC of this book and I have a feeling I’m going to love it!! ♥

May

MAY TBR.jpg

FLAME IN THE MIST (May 2)

After the magical master piece that is The Wrath and the Dawn duology, I’m 100% sure I’m going to read whatever Renee Ahdieh writes. Though it helps that this book is a retelling (!!!) of Mulan (!!!) but takes place in the Japanese culture (!!!) like, what else could you possibly ask for? 😍😍😍

THE DARK PROPHECY (May 2)

Remember how I always say that The Hidden Oracle is the funniest of all Riordan’s books? Well… it is. That’s why I’m super excited for the sequel! I can’t wait to see what else Riordan (aaand Apollo) had in mind. Also, real stuff is definitely going to happen this time.

A COURT OF WINGS AND RUIN (May 2)

First of all, I clearly do not approve of this title. I mean… it’s… horrible 😂 It just doesn’t sound right, at least to me. Buuut I’m dreading to know how the story will end. I know this series is super problematic and I have my own issues with it but I’m already too attached to the story.

QUESTION. What’s with May 2 and why are all these books being released on the same day?!!

June

JUNE TBR.jpg

OUR DARK DUET (June 13)

This Savage Song is my least favorite of all Schwab’s books, but that doesn’t mean I’m not DYING to find out what happens next!! The first book ended brutally and it was a total chaos (I think?) 😂 also, look at that gorgeous cover! Matches the first one perfectly ♥

BAD ROMANCE (June 13)

I’m falling in love SO HARD with I’ll Meet You There and I desperately want a sequel! Sadly, I don’t see that happening anytime soon (or ever) so I have to go for the next best thing : Heather Demetrios’s upcoming book ♥ judging from the synopsis, I assume we’re going to get another vibe of sweetness+angst and I’m EXCITED!!

NOW I RISE (June 27)

If I tought And I Darken was brutal, I have a feeling that Now I Rise is going to be EVEN MORE SO. I mean, with Lada being made Prince and all that. Also judging from the synopsis, I’m sensing an even more dynamic relationship between Lada, Radu, and Mehmed ♣

  1. This list is pretty much amazing and I don’t even know which book I’m more excited about! History Is All You Left Me will be so beautiful but also heartbreaking and I can’t wait! Caraval sounds amazing. A Conjuring of Light – OMG I just finished A Gathering of Shadows and I need the next book soo bad. I’m happy I only read this so late because now at least the wait is a little less long… If The Upside of Unrequited is only half as good as Simon, it will still be pretty PERFECT! Always and Forever Lara Jean, YES! Flame in the Mist ❤ And ACOWAR! (I agree about the title, it sounds silly but I NEED to know what will happen) Great list!

  3. This is such a great list! There’s literally only one book that wasn’t on my TBR already that I just added to it, haha. 2017 is going to be such a great year when it comes to book releases!! I’m beyond excited 🙂
Aslo, Renee Adieh tweeted that her next book isn’t going to be a Mulan retelling, but it’s just going to have similiar themes. A bit disappointing, since Mulan is my favorite Disney movie, but I’m sure it’ll be amazing anyway ❤
    Here’s my TTT!

    • Really? Cheers to having a similar (and obv grand) taste in books! 😀 I’m excited too, even though it most likely will drain my bank account 😂😂 ahh really? I was so hoping it’s a ‘real’ retelling… but doesn’t matter, still excited hahaha thank you ❤

  4. I’m SO excited for Always and Forever, Lara Jean, Flame in the Mist, ACOWAR, The Dark Prophecy, And I Rise, and Our Dark Duet as well! 🙂 Caraval is absolutely amazing and so is that cover! I love any book covers with sparkles or glitter on them (I just love glitter and sparkles in general). I’ve never read anything by Laini Taylor, but I’ve heard her books are amazing, so I’m looking forward to reading Strange the Dreamer, too.

    • Ahh so many books to look forward too, right? 😀 they actually had me at the cover! I mean, I didn’t even remember what Caraval is about hahaha ahh I should’ve been able to tell from your blog name 😛 they are, she has this way with words and suuuch an amazing story teller, can’t wait for Strange the Dreamer 😀

    • OMG YES! I don’t know whether to tell you to read it NOW because it’s so good or later so the wait wouldn’t be too insufferable 😂 Hmm yeah but it seems like there wasn’t anything hinting they would be around, wasn’t it? But we know for sure we WILL get to see more of Leo Valdez ❤

    • Thank you! 😀 I considered doing it by genre but really there’s only fantasy and contemporary here hahaha I knoooow righttt I’m so excited for it! If it’s only near as good as I’ll Meet You There, then I’m sure I’m going to love it too 😀 We Are Okay is so close, only 2 months away ❤

  5. Flame in the Mist, ACOWAR, Our Dark Duet and BASICALLY ALL THE FANTASY just need to be out now, because we poor bookworms need them so bad!! The wait between books can be so killer. 😦 Wonderful list. 🙂

  6. I swear each year just gets better and better with YA releases! I loved reading your list. I’m really looking forward to History Is All You Left Me, By Your Side, CARAVAL, The Inexplicable Logic of My Life, Strange the Dreamer, Goodbye Days, and The Upside of Unrequited.

After reading this post, I’ve now added (and looking forward to) We Are Okay (really need to read Everything Leads to You soon!) and Bad Romance! I loved Demetrios’s Something Real, but unfortunately still haven’t read I’ll Meet You There.

    • It does!! 😀 Ahhh yes you should TOTALLY read Everything Leads to You, it’s a perfect light read for when you’re in the mood for something warm & adorable ❤ I bought Something Real as soon as I finished reading I'll Meet You There and I'm gonna read it real soon 😀
