Hello everyone! ♥
As you probably have guessed from the title, today is my 22nd birthday! The December 24th 😀 I was born on a Saturday and as coincidence have it, today is also a Saturday
Since I already talk about books all the time, today is gonna be ALL ABOUT ME. I will present you 22 non bookish things about me and if you keep reading until the end of the post (or if you scroll past it) there will be a giveaway ♥
Let’s get started, shall we?!
#1 In case you haven’t noticed, I make a big deal out of birthday 😛 I know that as we grow older, birthday shouldn’t be that big of a deal anymore, but why not?! What’s so bad of having one special day for yourself? 😛
#2 I was born through a c-section and there was some accidents during the surgery. What kind of accident, you ask? Well, the doctor accidentally cut through the front-right part of my head, leaving an open wound on a baby’s head, AND THEN left because there was another delivery. The nurses took care of me and sew my wound shut without anesthesia because they said it was bad for a newborn? I don’t remember anything but I bet it must hurt so much. My family used to joke that it was what made me so smart but I’m pretty sure it has nothing to do with the cut
#3 In case you haven’t noticed, my favorite color is PINK (and red) ♥
#4 Leaving the house to go to university was one of the best decisions I ever made. My university wasn’t far, only 4 hours away, so I thought it was no big deal. I could come home all the time. During the last few days at home, everything started to get real and to make everything harder, it was fasting month. Being away from home on a fasting month is not easy 😦 at first it was super hard, I was homesick all the time and the transition was not as smooth as I hoped. Buuuut it turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me. I’ve grown so much and if I never left the house, I probably wouldn’t be able to do half the stuffs I could do now.
#5 I come from a big family. Well technically, my nuclear family only consists of 4 people, but both my mom and dad have 7 siblings and we’re all very close. So I have so many aunts and uncles and COUSINS (like I don’t even count anymore) and I’m a bit sad because I only have one sibling which means our children won’t live in a big family like we do
#6 I’m a seasonal person. Like, there’s a time I’m super into writing or crafting or baking but that’s that. The only hobby I always stick to is reading
#7 I actually didn’t want to study psychology. I was a science major back in high school but I joined a lot of journalistic activities and all I wanted to do back then was become a journalist or writer. My guidance counselor didn’t approve of me choosing journalism because it was harder for a science student to get into social program. So I chose psychology and I spent the first six months of my university life regretting my choice. But then I fell in love with it and now I’m so happy I chose psychology. I have met said counselor and told her how thankful I am for her advice ♦
#8 I’m a necklace hoarder. Big time. I love statement necklaces, ethnic necklaces, anything. If you don’t want to give me books, then buy me necklaces 😛
#9 I’m also super fond of makeup! I love experimenting and trying out new looks. This blog used to be about books and makeups but soon I realized I didn’t have that much to talk about when it comes to makeup
#10 I’m not really a ‘quote-person’ but there’s one quote that always stays with me. It says “the worst thing you can do to a person is to pretend they mean more to you than they actually do”. Believe it or not, this quote alone has led me to break up with someone before
#11 I like kids and am naturally good with them. I love babysitting my niece and nephew and my little cousins. Playing with children is fun… unless they start throwing tantrum and ask for their parents 😛 some of my aunts always say that it’s because I’m a psychology person but it actually has nothing to do with anything. I’ve just always been good with kids.
#12 I love cheese so much.
#13 I drive manual car and I love it. Stick shift is my life.
#14 I’m so good at twisting crap. Like, seriously, I’m good at small talks and I’m good at answering essays, and I’m good at writing ++1500 words blog post 😛
#15 I don’t have sister but my mom and I are the same size and have the same taste so we switch clothes, hijab, shoes, watches, necklaces, bags, basically all the clothing items all the time. I never have to worry about wardrobe as long as I live at home
#16 When I was in high school, I used to skipped A LOT of family events just to hang out with my friends but now… I find myself choosing family events over friends almost every time. I guess being away from home makes me realize how precious family really is
#17 Buuuut I’ve also realized that TRUE FRIENDS are just as precious! When we live on our own, friends are all that we have and I never knew before that friendship could be that genuine. Shout out to all my friends out there ♥♥♥
#18 I started to wear hijab 3 years ago. Funny story : it was during a dance competition and yes, I was a traditional dancer sooo the majority of our dance group already wore hijab and for the sake of uniformity, our coach told the rest (who didn’t wear any) to wear hijab for the performance. I didn’t want to. I didn’t want to wear hijab because I wanted that flower on my head and crap, but I was a team player so I ended up wearing. Buuuut after that I thought a lot about it and suddenly decided that I wanted to wear one? I don’t know how my brain works, I’m a walking contradiction 😛
#19 I LOVE MUSIC. Okay, who doesn’t though? Most of my favorite songs are slow pop/rock and something old like MLTR, Air Supply, and Bryan Adams. Even my favorite modern bands and singers share the same quality, some of them are The Script, Parachute, A Rocket to the Moon, 5 Seconds of Summer, and Ed Sheeran.
#20 Not many people know this, but I used to write A LOT of short stories! Some of them were even published and I even had a blog solely dedicated for my stories back when I was in high school. It was in my native language aaaand probably kind of crappy 😛 Lately I’ve been thinking about SERIOUSLY getting back into it and reviving my story blog. Any thoughts?
#21 I’m physically small but I eat like a dinosaur… mostly 😛 Though I’m a stress non-eater, like if I’m stressed out I can’t eat anything. I’d rather starve until whatever that stresses me out is over
#22 I haven’t told anyone but psstt…. living back at home after 4 years away feels… confining. Don’t get me wrong, I love my family but I miss my freedom and privacy and I’m tired of having everyone ordering me around and checking up on me all the time. Plus I’m absolutely the most open minded person in the house and it has caused sooo many arguments with my parents (especially my dad) who are still so conservative
To celebrate my 22 years of being alive, I’m hosting my first ever giveaway! It’s not much, but it’s what I can afford at the moment 🙂 I was planning to make it as inclusive as possible so EVERYONE can enter. I asked around and it seems not as easy as I thought 😦 I’m afraid something will go wrong if I choose something I’ve never tried before, so for now it’s an old TBD giveway and if TBD doesn’t ship to you, you can choose the book from Amazon Kindle and I will gift it to you 🙂
P.S. I’m so sorry if Amazon Kindle isn’t available in your country 😦
P.P.S If you live in Indonesia, I could just send you a book from Periplus or Books & Beyond for shorter delivery time!
Alright people, I’ve told you 22 things about me that are not bookish related (which was difficult TBH) and now it’s your turn to spill your secrets! do we share any of this things? If yes which one and let’s flail together I’m sorry that the giveaway isn’t available for everyone but I promise I’ll do better next time.
Also let’s not waste both of our times by following me ONLY to unfollow after the giveaway ends. It’s rude and I’d rather you not following me at all, kayy? 🙂 Have a great day and good luck to you all! ♥

You have a beautiful family and yes it’s huge! Also, I probably might have to live away from my family next year onwards and reading this post actually gave me quite some courage 💙

Happy birthday! That’s super cool to be born on Christmas Eve. Double on presents! 😄
Hm, probably the most interesting fact about me is that I got hit in the head with a golf club when I was ten at this end of the year party. I had to get stitches. Not a fun memory, but it’s interesting to tell people! 😂

Thank you Mikaela! 😀 ohh I don’t celebrate Christmas, but I did get double present for several years when Ied was on December, it was both a blessing and a curse because some people only gave 1 present and hoped to get two birds with one stone 😂😂 ah yikes it must hurt a lot! But hey, we both have had stitches on our head 😛

A wonderful happy birthday to you!! ❤ I absolutely loved reading your post and getting to know more about you! Also, these pictures are all so lovely ❤ ❤
I get you about going away from home to university. I did the same thing, – I was 5 hours from home by train – and even if it was hard, I grew so much from this experience, and I think I would be completely different if I hadn't done it either. And it's SO great that you are this close to your mom, I love when that happens 🙂 I'm the same with my sister, and it's great never having to worry about wardrobe issues haha. And YES to cheese. ANND yes to that story blog! IF you could, I would love to be able to read some of your stories someday! 🙂
Once again a very happy birthday, and THANK YOU for this sweet giveaway! ❤ ❤

Happy Birthday, Puput 😁!! It’s great getting to know you more 🙂.
It’s good that you’re family-oriented! I totally get what you mean about feeling restricted being back at home though. I feel that on a minor level when I go back home during breaks. I love being with my family, but sometimes I just want to leave the house without having to answer twenty questions.
Ooo I also enjoy a nice Air Supply song every once in a while 😊.
I hope you had a really special birthday!

I mean, my family isn’t that over protective and they let me out almost all the time but it’s just that once you got a taste of (almost) complete freedom it’s hard to settle for less hahaha 😂😂 and that’s a nice way to put it… twenty questions hahaha 😛 thank you, have a great holiday ❤

First of all, Happy Belated Birthday 💕 It is always important to celebrate every birthday! They are big deals!
I really enjoyed this post. I love getting to know more about my favorite bloggers. I love that psych finally won you over. It was one of my favorite areas of nursing.
I also wanted to state that I would love to see some of your stories! Even if you could share them on here from time to time 💕
Again, happiest of birthdays!

I am currently an inactive nurse. I switched when I moved out here to Oregon, due to my sons medical needs at the time and a better position that opened up for me. Now I am limited due to my illness that I developed. I still work in pharmacy though 🙂
I find psych so fun though. I did a few rotation on several interesting psych wards and loved the courses. I will be waiting for that post ❤

Happy birthday! I think it’s so cool your birthday is on Christmas Eve! A fact about me… Maybe that I write too? Something I recently discovered about myself that I find really curious is that wince I was 12, I’ve worked in three main drafts of full-lenght novels, and each helped me during particular stages of my life, echoing my life’s struggles of that time. Some people say writing is therapeutic for them, and I just recently realized that I know that firsthand.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY YOU FABULOUS BEAN!! And since I’ve only recently started following your blog/just met you, then I think this is an excellent time to say I loooove your blog and your writing voice and you’re so lovely!! Yay for being 22!! I’m 22 (except my birthday is next month so then I’ll be an old granny again or something).😂 I totally relate to swapping clothes with mums too! I’m about 2cm shorter than my mum so I can abscond with shirts and things. But then I also have two sisters the same size as me so…that’s handy. 😉
That’s super terrible about how you were born and the doctor cut you and everything!! Like whaaaa?!? Terrible hospital experience. At least you don’t have to remember that because you were just born.🙈🙊
Here’s a weird thing non-bookish about me…when I was like one year old, my family was on a hiking trip and my mum slipped and fell into a little river….but it was kind of fast flowing and she ended up going over a small waterfall.😂 Only a tiny one so it was no big deal or whatever, but she was holding baby-me and I think she kind of threw me at my dad just as she fell over this little waterfall.😂 IT SOUNDS HILARIOUS. Pity I don’t remember. 😜
ANYWAY HAPPY BIRTHDAY AGAIN AND ALL THE CAKE FOR YOU!!

Whaaaattt?! That’s probably hurt for your mom but hilarious! If you remember it more clearly it would be such a cool story to tell people 😂 yayyy thank you again! ❤

Happy birthday Puput! I don’t know about you, but I want to sing 22 for you haha😜 Anyways, fact no 2 is so scary._. Like that doctor should be sued or something smh. (But we know how the law in our country works so yeah.) My extended family is also really big, like my grandma has 4 other siblings, my father has 5 other siblings, my mom has 2 and not to mention all of their cousins… There are so many that I haven’t met omg. Fun fact about my birth: the doctor that helped my birth helped my mother’s friend birth too, and recently he helped Raffi Ahmad’s son birth. Like whatttt😂😂😂

Thank you Tasya!! 😀 Nope same I keep thinking of Taylor Swift too hahaha 😛 I don’t know how my parents handled that situation, my mom was probably unconscious due to the surgery though hahaha 😂 aaahhh I feel you! There are so many so called relatives that I don’t even know exist before my parents tell me so 😂😂 OMG it’s the same doctor who delivered Rafatar? Are you a celebrity Tasya???hahahaha 😛

Yep that’s the one! I don’t know haha! My mom was very surprised when she saw the infotaiment, like how does the doctor still alive and still delivering babies? He must be over 70 omg xD

that’s the thing, he’s already old when he delivered me. jadi kayak temennya mama ku (44 yrs old!!!) lahirnya juga sama dia. also emak nya temen mamaku itu juga lahir sama dokternya. and let’s not forget gigi istrinya raffi ahmad juga dibantu sama dokter itu. he must’ve been really ancient now.

First, happy birthday!! I am so glad that you shared all these facts with us, it is so nice to get to know the blogger 😀 I went away for college too, and like you, not SUPER far. I was so homesick as well- only… I regret it. I mean, I DO agree that it was good in the long run for me to get out, but my parents kind of forced me and I don’t think that was the right way for me, you know? I am glad it went better for you!
Also, the birth story is so scary! Your mom must have been beside herself! I had two c-sections, and I cannot even imagine. I am, of course, so glad you are okay! I LOOOOVE how big and close your family is! I also love that you and your mom can share clothes!!
Hope your birthday was amazing, and thank you so much for the generous giveaway, you are too sweet! ♥♥

I totally relate with the weirdness of being back in your parents’ house after tasting freedom; I was VERY reluctant to move away to go to college, but after just a couple weeks of college, it felt stifling to come back and stay with my parents for any length of time. Happy belated birthday, Puput!! ♥ I have to say… Reading these facts was so much fun!! So many interesting things about you, and I’m glad I got to know you a little bit more! Now, please tell me your family did something about that incredibly negligent doctor. Can’t believe it! That’s quite an interesting fact, involving a really spooky doctor! ahaha
Sadly, there’s nothing interesting about my birthday, other than is right after Halloween – which I love! However, I do have an interesting fact about my life. My native language is Spanish, but I love speaking in English, and in fact, I do it every single day, even if that means talking to myself xD. Which is funny, because back in High School, I used to suck at English! I remember cheating on exams, being told the answers to every single homework by my friends. I didn’t understand a word! I don’t know, I guess something must have happened after I left school, because it wasn’t until that moment that I developed an interest in languages.. When I first signed up for English classes, which was five years ago, I obviously started from the beginning. But as things were kind of boring and well-known for me, I took a test to check my real English skills. Well, that same test made me skip the first two years of the programme. So cool! I’m still wondering what the heck happened to my brain. Out of the blue, I became really good at speaking this language! 😀
Hope we get to see more posts like this one, with you telling us more things about you. Hope you had a lovely birthday, girl! And thank you for the giveaway ^^

Thank you so much! 😀 so glad you enjoyed reading all these random craps hahaha nothing I remember… my mom was unconscious because she was under full anesthesia and I didn’t know what my dad did hahaha but one thing I know for sure, they went to another OBGYN when my mom was carrying my little brother 😅 OMG SAME!! I spend so much time reading English books and writing in English that most of the times I THINK in English as well 😛 ooohh really? What was the turning point? Ahaha I’ve always loved English ever since I was little, but when I was in high school I learned French and I didn’t like it! I mean, I already speak 3,5 languages (there’s half because I’m not fluent enough to say 4 haha) and I was lazy to learn another one 😅😅 but so glad to see you love and become good with English! ❤

Happy birthday, Puput!
That’s so cool that you studied Psychology! I was thinking about doing that for a long time as well, but then I ended up chosing Marketing. Though I love it, I do sometimes wish I would have gone for psychology instead. (I also wanted to study English, German and studied to become a teacher for a while… I wanted lots of things 🙂 ) Also, yay cheese! Oh, and Ed Sheeran ❤
