My List of Disappointment : Books I Love LESS Than I Hoped I Would

SPARKLING LETTERS BOOK BLOG- TOP 10 TUESDAY BOOKS I LOVED LESS THAN I HOPED I WOULD.jpg

Hello everyone! ♥

It’s been a while since the last time I did a Top Ten Tuesday but this week topic just basically called to me! It’s Ten Books I Loved Less/More Than I Thought I Would. I’ve read 21 books this year but only two of them are 5 stars. This month I haven’t even rated a book 5 stars

Being let down so often inspired me to make a list of books I loved less than I hoped I would. It was a coincidence that this week topic is similar. True story, I swear! 😛 But BEWARE, I’ll be dragging a lot of people’s favorites. It’s okay for you to be upset with my choice, it’s okay if you disagree and want to discuss it, but there’s no need to be angry or fight over favorite books, alright? 😉 Anyway, it’s definitely more than 10. Here you go! Continue reading

Authors Whose Books I’ll Buy Without Even Caring What They Are About

SPARKLING LETTERS BOOK BLOG- AUTO BUY AUTHORS.jpg

Hello everyone! Welcome to another list/recommendation post ♥

Today we’ll be talking about authors whose books I’ll buy without even caring what they are about, a.k.a my auto buy authors! I have a lot of favorite authors, but are they all auto buy? Not necessarily. Auto buy authors are even better than favorite authors because just like I said, I wouldn’t even read the synopsis before deciding if I’m gonna read the book. I have blind faith in their writing 😛

In order to be an auto buy for me, authors have to had released more than one book and all of them have to be equally great, or at least the newer one is better than the debut. All of the books also need to have something remarkable that would make me crave for more, it’s either the characters, the plot, the writing, or all of them. Continue reading

sparkling-letters-book-blog-so-you-wanna-get-your-heart-smashed-read-this-books

Hello everyone! ♥

Welcome back to another recommendation post! 😀 We’re well into the rainy season where I live and you know what would be the perfect thing to do during a rainy day? That’s right, curling up in bed with books! Actually, it’ll be the perfect thing to do in ANY weather. Anywayyy, during days like these, I always prefer to read contemporary books over any other genres, preferably books that are sad and will break my heart. Therefore today we’ll be talking about books that will smash our heart right out of its place… figuratively, of course 😛 Continue reading

Book Recommendations for the Notorious Shipper Out There! <3

SPARKLING LETTERS BOOK BLOG- BOOK RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE NOTORIOUS SHIPPER OUT THERE.jpg

I would like to say that I want to read books that don’t focus on romance, but that would be a lie. The truth is, I’ve always been a huge shipper 😛 You might remember that my first few years of reading journey were filled with tons and tons of manga. My first two mangas were Detective Conan and Doraemon and I shipped Ran and Shinichi so badly ♥ and then I watched and read Naruto and I shipped Sasuke and Sakura. I have to admit, that ship took a lot of patience (and frustration) on my part until they finally got together.

But still, I got to ship #sorrynotsorry Continue reading

Can’t 2017 Come Faster? Because I NEED to Read These Most Anticipated Books! <3

SPARKLING LETTERS BOOK BLOG- MOST ANTICIPATED BOOKS OF 2017.jpg

Okay, not true.

I don’t want 2017 to come faster. I mean, new year always comes with great expectation and I feel like I’m not ready for another set of expectations. Also, no matter how crappy this year has been for others, I still feel like this is one of the best year I’ve had so far. But let’s not get philosophical 😛 I’m here, as always, to talk about books ♥

In term of books, 2017 seems SO PROMISING! So many (hopefully) great books from my favorite authors will be released next year and I just can’t wait anymore! So here goes some of my most anticipated books for the first half of 2017 ♦ only for the first half because I’m linking this post with Top Ten Tuesday (though it’s obviously more than ten but who’s counting?) and most books released on the second half of 2017 don’t even have covers or specific release dates yet 😂 Continue reading

10 Pros & Cons of Buying Books Online

SPARKLING LETTERS BOOK BLOG- 10 PROS AND CONS OF BUYING BOOKS ONLINE.jpg

I’m a true online shopper.

I buy a lot of items online, be it clothes, makeups, phone case, bags, shoes (yes even shoes), and obviously BOOKS ♥ have I ever been conned? Yes I have. I lost over Rp 150k for a laptop case I never received and received a few items that didn’t look at all like the advertisement pictures. But other than that, my online shopping experience has been pretty great! 😀

I know a lot of you are already super familiar with buying books online, but I also know some friends and bloggers who are still wary of online shopping, especially when the items are being shipped from abroad. Continue reading

Cliche Things in Books That Almost Never Happen in Real Life

sparkling-letters-book-blog-cliche-things-in-books-that-almost-never-happen-in-real-life

Hello everyone! Welcome to another bookish talk ♥

I’ve been so busy binge watching some tv shows these couple of days that I haven’t really had the time to focus on my blog. I’ve been putting off replying comments and blog hopping and even writing posts! I have some ideas that I think would be great for the blog but I was too distracted to properly write the post. This post is one that I wrote probably two hours before I hit publish which is very unlike me because I usually write my post ahead of time, especially discussion post 😛

Since everyone here is a huge reader, I’m sure we frequently encounter cliche things that happen a lot in books but almost never happen in real life. Which is kind of weird because how does author come up with those stuffs if they’re not even real? Anyway, let’s get started! ♦ Continue reading

SPARKLING LETTERS BOOK BLOG-10 Bookish Pet Peeves I Cannot Get Over From.jpg

Hello everyone! ♥

Being a bookworm / book blogger is one of the most wonderful thing in the world. We got to collect books and stare at them and read them over and over again. Buuuut, collecting book isn’t all sunshine and rainbow! I mean, aside of making us broke, there are A LOT of things we dislike from collecting books! Shocker, I know 😛 it’s been a while since I make a list and rant and today I’m feeling a bit ranty, so here goes 10 bookish pet peeves that really annoy me! I’m sure you’ll find one or two or all ten things that equally bother you from this list 😛 Continue reading

Halloween Read-A-Thon TBR

halloween-readathon.jpg

After participating in #DiverseAThon this month, I’m so eager to join another read-a-thon as it ‘forces’ me to break out of my comfort zone! ♦ Good news, Lauren @ Wonderless Reviews is hosting Halloween Read-A-Thon where she asked us to read scary books with her! ♥

I’m not a fan of horror stories because they creep me out, but I do have some scary books on my TBR that I’ve been putting off for ages! I figured this would be the perfect time to start devouring them. The read-a-thon will run from October 10th until October 31st and there will also be challenges on the books we read. Since I’m a very competitive person, I LOVE CHALLENGES! But if you don’t, that’s okay too because Lauren said that she wanted to make this event as chill as possible. Continue reading
